My blogging buddy, Aly, from Cooking In Stilettos just posted information about a wonderful blogging event in support of those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Thank you, Aly.
Creative
Culinary’s Barb and Jenn from Jenn
Cuisine came up with the great idea of encouraging food bloggers to post a
recipe for a comfort food dish on Thursday, November 8th. Jenn put it this way:
These are the organizations
that Jenn and Barb are suggesting for donations:
Red Cross is providing food, shelter, and other forms of support to hurricane victims. You can donate directly to the Red Cross, you can also text the word “Redcross” to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
Salvation Army is also focused on providing food, shelter, and support to victims, and takes donations to storm relief.
Feeding America is providing food, water and supplies to those who need it as part of their disaster relief program.
What a great way to
remember our friends across many states affected by Hurricane Sandy and to keep
the idea alive of neighbors helping neighbors. Of course, bringing an actual comfort food
dish to people who were in harm's way is always a good idea.
So blogging friends, on November 8th, post a recipe for a comfort food dish; include links for donating to organizations for hurricane relief; and follow along and give the Support for Sandy event a shoutout on Twitter using hashtag #FBS4Sandy (Food Bloggers Support For Sandy).

If you want to grab the code for their nifty badge which links to the American Red Cross, go to either Barb's or Jenn's posts on the subject:

Thanks for letting us all know about this, Sue. It's Dare's turn to post this week, she'll be linking to your post and the two you have links to as well.
That sounds great, Tom. I be looking out for Dare's post.
