Food Network Deprived Fans – You WILL Be Able To See The Iron Chef Super Chef Battle

Out of the goodness of their hearts (I always like to think the best of people ;-), WPIX-TV (channel 11 in NY) and WTXX-TV (channel 20 in Connecticut) are broadcasting the Food Network’s Super Chef Battle: An Iron Chef America Event tomorrow, Sunday, January 10th from 8 pm to 10 pm.

The GOOD news is that watching this show for 2 hours will take you A LOT less time than reading my blow-by-blow blog posts on the challenge - Part One and Part Two. The BAD news is that you’ll be watching it and NOT reading my blog.

Brooke Johnson, president of Food Network said, “We have the greatest fans in the world…These encore presentations are just a small way to say ‘thank you’ for their support and understanding while we do everything we can to get our networks back on Cablevision.”

There are also plans in the works to broadcast some HGTV shows on these two stations during the stalemate.

I have FIOS, so I still have the Food Network (for what it's worth). I had been thinking about watching the Iron Chef battle. Kevin even suggested we watch it. In the end, we had a DVD full of Little Britain episodes in our Netflix pile and we decided on a "Little Britain" marathon instead.

I did catch some of the ICA battle in a rerun. Mostly in the beginning, but some of the middle. I am not surprised about Batli/Lagasse losing. It looked like they ran into some roadblocks and issues. Also, there was jsut no way the judges wouldn't give the win to the White House Chef, even if they were British.

Oops. Forgot to say the most important part of the comment. Reading your recap is far more fun than watching the show anyway!

PLEASE don't think I'm a complete a lunkhead, but I've never heard of Little Britain and even when I googled it, it STILL didn't ring a bell. I've obviously been watching way too much Real Housewives. And the fact that I know the complete cast of The Hills is another clue that your television watching is a lot more erudite than mine. I will say, though, that the Hills cast has a lot better looking teeth than the folks on Little Britain!

I guess I was naive to think that the better team would win, but, really, the judges completely dissed Chef Comerford's broccoli chowder and there was no such obvious loser on the Emeril and Mario side.

THANK YOU (and DC and others, too) for ploughing through the recap. I start to leave some stuff out and then I just can't bring myself to...
