Paula Fights Fire

Paula Deen’s Savannah restaurant The Lady & Sons was the site of a late night fire on Father’s Day. Luckily, firefighters removed the cause of the heavy smoke, a bag of oily rags, without having to turn on their hoses.

Paula, in a robe and slippers, appeared at the scene with her family. When she was finally recognized, she was let through the tape. I wouldn’t want to be the person who tried to keep her out.

The Deen’s customary good humor showed itself even in this situation. The restaurant was to be open for lunch today, because “if we get one round of fried chicken goin' in here, you won't smell the smoke at all,” said Jamie Deen.

I want to go to her restaurant and visit Savannah.

I guess that's good that she's close by.
