TAG, We're It

Emiline made me do this. I feel like tagging her again, but there are so many other worthwhile folks out there.

Rules:

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.

2. Share 5 facts about yourself

3. Tag 5 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).

4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.

Ok, here are 5 riveting facts about me:

1. I baked my own wedding cake.

2. I was always embarrassed to admit this when I was growing up and now I don’t care: I never learned how to ride a bike. My father refused to put training wheels on a bike and I refused to ride it. I spent my youth making troll houses and baking brownies instead.

3. I have a twin brother. I’m 13 minutes older and 7 plus inches shorter, plus I have A LOT more hair. People have asked me (upon hearing I have a twin brother) if we’re identical.

4. A Brit Out Of Water reminded me of this. I know I’m a baby, but I refuse to eat by myself in public, except if it’s on the street while I’m walking. I have HAD to do it very rarely and I really hate it. I feel as if everyone is staring at me and so whenever I see someone eating by HERself (men are so full of themselves they don’t care) I’m so impressed by her bravery that I end up STARING AT HER.

5. I LOVE talking on the phone. (Call me anytime.) I’m old enough to remember the advent of cordless phones. Now THAT was a great invention. It meant I could I unload the groceries, make dinner, sit outside, take a walk, get the mail, paint the basement, do whatever I needed to on the computer AND talk on the phone.

These are the 5 people I tag. You’re it:
Fruity
Tracy
CommonDialog
A Brit Out Of Water
Madam Chow

I'm sick of all this tagging, myself.
You made your own wedding cake!? Impressive.

Who needs a bike after the age of 12?

You have a twin brother? COOL! But your hairier.
I'm so hairy, seriously.

If you had a book or something to do, could you eat alone? I have eaten alone many times. I'm not very social though. You are! You like talking on the phone and I do not.

You've eaten alone in public, lots?! You're so brave. I know it's ridiculous, but I feel like a loser. And, no, a book doesn't help.

OMG!!! That cake.

Think of the tagging as an excuse to impress people, because I am duly impressed.

I've been forced to eat alone in public on business trips. The good side of it is that you can control where you go. My boss hates Indian food. We were in London a couple of years ago and he went back to the states a day before I did, so I was on my own and headed straight to an Indian restaurant.

Hairy? So am I. Half-Italian roots and all of that.

Ok, let me nip this in the bud right now. I am not HAIRY, I am just hairier than my balding brother...on my head!

Well, Rachel, I've always been an enthusiastic proponent of bragging, so I shouldn't complain.

And for Indian food, I might be willing to eat alone. Nah, actually, probably not, because I would be even MORE self conscious about ordering the 6 or more dishes I always have to have. Obviously, you're a grownup and I'm not.

OK, I did mine. I don't mind doing them, but they make me feel very uninteresting.

Cool about your wedding cake!

And I hate the phone. I am one of the last holdouts who refuses to get a cell phone.

Tracy,
You did good and you're speedy too!

I don't really like my cellphone. I hardly ever use it. I yack on my real phone...but cordless.

Tracy, I have no cellphone either. I swear if I ever do cave, only my husband will have the number.

The one good thing I will say about a cellphone is that I could nag the kids when I wasn't home.
