Too Hot To Handle Or Even Eat

The chicken wings are so hot at this Chicago tavern that patrons first have to sign a waiver agreeing not to sue for injuries.

Jake Melnick's Corner Tap web site asks Why go home...when you can go straight to the hospital? Okay, I made that last part up, but sometimes I think these hot pepper extravaganzas are just another way for little (mostly) boys masquerading as men, to compete in yet another arena and vie for bragging rights in something that is seen to be for macho men only.

I have to say that in my college and just beyond years, I did have a bit of a swagger as a result of my ability to eat hot and spicy food. But I grew out of that particular boastful need, and as H would tell me at every opportunity, grew into so many others. BUT this sounds just dumb to me and the waste of perfectly good chicken wings AND taste buds.

Here is a video of a grown man brought to tears by eating the hottest chile pepper on earth:

That's awesome! You know people say that you eat less when your food is spicy but it's the opposite of me. Maybe I'm just weird!

I agree with you. I find that even if I wasn't that hungry before, I can always eat when I go to good Indians restaurants, because the spicy food stimulates my appetite.
