Bobby Flay Faces Great Odds In His Next Venture

Keep your fingers crossed for horse owner, Bobby Flay, as he awaits the results of this afternoon’s Kentucky Oaks race at Churchill Downs.

The fillies-only race, held the day before the Kentucky Derby, pits Bobby’s Her Smile against a field of 12 others. Bobby told Al Roker on the Today Show this morning that on his off-time he likes to go to the track early in the morning and watch the horses work out. I guess it gets him away from the animals in the kitchen.

Her Smile is running at 20 to 1 odds, which will mean a big payday for her fans and owner if she wins. For updates and results of the 5:45 pm race, check here.

Update: Her Smile came in 11th. Plum Pretty won; St. John's River placed and Zazu showed. Too bad, Bobby. :-(

Aww Bobby. Darn. Eleventh seems good to me... does he win anything for that?
