I've just found another example of the "resizing" of packaged goods. Boxes of Honey Maid Graham Crackers now come with only 8 crackers in each packet, compared to the former 10 or even 11.
Why is that important? Because your recipe for graham cracker crust may call for, as mine does, 1 packet of graham crackers. You'll have a pretty wet graham cracker crust AND a smaller one, if you cut the number of graham crackers that much.
So let's see, there's cereal, coffee, ice cream and crackers, which have all shrunken in size, but are the same price. That in effect, of course, raises the price. Soon a pound of hamburger is only going to make 3 quarter pounders...which might not be such a bad thing, actually.
