Strawberry Fields

Strawberries are gloriously in season now. I've been buying organic ones, which do cost more, but each one has the sweetness of 2 or 3 regular berries, so I'll never go back.

Try this salad dressing, made in the blender, my favorite way. It's so yummy that you may just eat it with a spoon and forget the salad. But if you do go green and leafy, throw in some goat cheese and toasted nuts too. And a sliced strawberry wouldn't go astray. This recipe makes enough dressing for the week.

Strawberry Dressing
Adapted from Bon Appétit

1 cup sliced strawberries
½ cup olive oil
3 tbls. white balsamic vinegar
2 tsps. sugar
lots of freshly ground black pepper

Place ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. Store in jar in refrigerator.

Sorry, I couldn't resist...

I was amazed at the difference in taste. When I left the organic strawberries on the counter, the sweet smell wafted through the kitchen. That has NEVER happened with conventionally grown ones.

I suspect, though, that the produce you're getting in France is so superior to our supermarket varieties that the difference might not be that huge between organic and not-organic.

Organic foods have a different smell of true nature's foods. I love my strawberries with purple. Wanted to share this, whenever I have strawberries, with it I have this drink called purple. You must have heard about it since it's doing a lot of rounds in the celebrity circuit and is all over the news. Its tastes amazing with strawberries, try it and let me know if you liked it or not. It is a health drink which is made up of 7 fruits juice and is high on antioxidants and you know about antioxidants right? it prevents premature ageing, what else do growing women want huh, LOL!! If you want more information to check whether what I am saying is right you can get it at www.drinkpurple.com . You can get it at GNC and drug stores.
