THANKSGIVING TIPS - The Tip That Will Save Your Thanksgiving

After the turkey comes out of the oven, turn it upside down and cover it well with foil. I don’t care how heavy it, how hot it is or how stuffed it is. Do it! The juices will flow back into the breast, giving you a moist gorgeous turkey. It’s worth ruining 2 potholders a year to do this.

Excellent tip. We can do this when we roast chicken too right?

I am not a fan of the idea of baking it upside down but this sounds totally doable! Thank you for the tip!

I don't even know if we will have Thanksgiving off, which sucks, so that means my husband would have to cook the turkey if I work. Better him than my SIL! (I will NOT let her do it...no way!)

Hi Cyn,

Absolutely you may use that tip on roast chicken.

JEN!
You don't BAKE it upside down, you put it upside down AFTER it comes out of the oven.

Poor you! Can't you have Thanksgiving on a day when you both have off?

I spend hours at the gym for moments like that!

I wish but our company is the pits. Let's just say I'm ready to walk right now...ugh.

I promise I won't have my husband bake it upside down. I just hope he remembers to do what I tell him to do!

But Shortie,

Remember that the weights at the gym aren't really hot, really greasy and really slippery and you're not wearing a lace blouse when you're lifting them...At least, I hope you're not.

Jen,

You HAVE to whisper to me (or email) what kind of company you work for. I thought the only places not closed at Thanksgiving were hospitals and prisons, oh and the odd restaurant. Oh wait, online shopping? Why don't you start a poll on your blog and we can guess.

I just reread every post on your blog and you said "healthcare industry". Hmmmmmmm...
