I'm IT

Lori at I Spend Most Of My Life In The Kitchen tagged me, which means that I have to write a post telling 8 random facts about myself and then tag 8 other bloggers. Well, here are the rules…And I’m copying and pasting them exactly, because that’s what it looks like what my forebears did and I don’t want to do anything wrong. (See Fact #4)

Rules

1. We have to post these
rules before we give you the facts.

2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves. (I’m expanding this a bit to include anecdotes. See Fact #7.)

3. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.

4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Okay, I thought I’d make these mostly food related, because I don’t think you all really care that my favorite hairstyle was a perm I allowed myself to keep for 3 too-long years or that I have little toes that look like I’m related to Cheetah.

8 Facts (or whatever) About Me

1. I learned to bake bread late in life…in my mid 20’s.

2. I once made 3 peach soufflés on 3 consecutive days, because I thought if I added more peach purée, it would make the soufflé taste peachier. It just made it not rise. (I was 14, so I wasn’t JUST stupid).

3. In college, a friend and I had traveled to Spain from Paris where we were living. I had never studied Spanish. Leaving from the Madrid airport, we were trying to use up all of our pesetas. We got 1 bag of potato chips “patatas” and what we thought would be 2 little delightful Spanish cookies – mantequilla. We spent the rest of our waiting time spreading each and every potato chip with the butter.

4. I HATE getting in trouble for ANYTHING.

5. I’m not good at adding fruit to Jello. It always rises to the top.

6. I had prepared a healthy Lentil Burger dinner for the kids, then 10 and 12. I put my daughter’s beautifully garnished plate down in front of her and turned to get something else. She said “Mom, can I have a new plate?” “Why, honey?” I said. “Because someone threw up on mine.”

I never laughed so hard.

7. In spite of #4, I don’t like to follow instructions and I am incredibly opinionated. I never met an issue about which I couldn’t voice an opinion. (Well, almost always, my son once asked what I thought of the Dayton Accords. I admit I didn’t have an opinion, but I read up and I do now.)

8. I’m brutal if my husband criticizes something I’ve cooked. I’ll badger him endlessly to tell me EXACTLY what he didn’t like, and then I’ll pronounce it the BEST thing I’ve ever made and call him a know-nothing.

I can't manage fruit/Jello either. I have come to the conclusion that I don't really need to eat Jello and fruit together anyway.

Regarding #4, you'd love living with my husband. He's a sweetie, but he's particular. He has all kinds of rules about this and that. I'm always in trouble for goofing up (fortunately for the both of us, I don't care, so it all goes in one ear and out the other). :oD

We wanna hear about that perm!!

hahaha, I too am very defensive when my husband doesn't like what I have cooked for him, especially if I spent alot of time on it. But hey to each their own.

Thanks so much for thinking of me!

Lori,
You are right about Jello and I think we should listen to our husbands as much as they listen to us. :)
My perm - What can I say? It was the 80's.

BYCAEIT
WHY do we care what they think? But we do.

My pleasure!

Hee hee hee!!! You sound a lot like me about badgering your husband! I am constantly on mine- What's wrong with it? What didn't you like?? I'm usually met with resistance! hehehe!

I'll get to this, I promise!

Jennifer,

I think the secret is to badger them without them knowing it. When you figure out to do that, let me know.

Wow, Sue! Thanks for the tag. And sorry I'm late late late. (Life gets in the way sometimes.)

Gonna do my best!
