I love that idea...and I would never ever do it.

Rach,
I have to admit that moment seemed more scripted than authentic, but what's food television without a little slapstick? If they'd assembled it AFTER carrying it, there would have been no drama and no occasion for Buddy to scream at people. But c'mon, isn't Buddy adorable?!!Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02284023935180677683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1134384403689315687.post-26992563458087493442009-10-16T09:51:04.987-04:002009-10-16T09:51:04.987-04:00I rarely watch Cake Boss, but caught some of it a ...I rarely watch Cake Boss, but caught some of it a coupleof days ago while doing the hamster wheel thing on the treadmill at a hotel gym this week. I couldn't help but think of you and your affection for the show. A big cake got dropped on the floor. Why did they have to carry it down a staircase? I'd have carried the parts down first and assembled it at the bottom. The Short (dis)Order Cookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05510572788683143569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1134384403689315687.post-52282397917064220242009-10-15T14:12:06.333-04:002009-10-15T14:12:06.333-04:00Also, for some reason I don't watch cake shows...Also, for some reason I don't watch cake shows. I think it's because I can't decorate cakes at all.

I think you should should throw some bleach on the placemats and tear holes in them. Then they would be vintage placemats.Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17204776831565649927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1134384403689315687.post-45645271072744966442009-10-15T12:31:36.885-04:002009-10-15T12:31:36.885-04:00Emily!

In the 90% off bin in a craft store when no one was looking.

Thanks so much Dhanggit,
Yeah, it just hit me about Buddy, the more I watch him the more I love him.

Hi Beth,
Welcome!
I've watched Ace of Cakes before, I just never made a close study of the episodes.

Duff IS great and much more socially forward than the Cake Boss and crew, but I guess I need more time with him to develop the relationship.

Of course, he has a website. I was on it FOR HOURS, trying to find reference to those other millions of folks on his show. That’s where I found out that his cakes start at a $1000, with 50% down and the balance paid 2 weeks before the event, which I have absolutely no problem with, by the way. There's only a picture (with NO caption) and no description anywhere of who they are and what they do. Is that the difference between family and hired help, maybe? If you don't include Mama on the website, you'll hear about it at every family dinner.Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02284023935180677683noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1134384403689315687.post-71945898658874891542009-10-15T09:27:22.539-04:002009-10-15T09:27:22.539-04:00I'm glad you didn't ding Ace of Cakes afte...I'm glad you didn't ding Ace of Cakes after only one viewing.
